Donna's story
When Donna split up from her husband they began to sort out child maintenance for their daughter between themselves. After a while, the arrangement stopped working and some months he wouldn't pay anything at all. He was also beginning to be very aggressive towards her.
Donna didn't know where to turn so decided to Google 'child maintenance' and came across the Child Maintenance Options website. She read it thoroughly and considered her choices, but felt because her ex-husband was so difficult, she would have to use the CSA to make sure she got paid.
Since then, she hasn't looked back. Having a case with the CSA means her ex-husband pays the full amount and on time. Donna is sad her daughter has no contact with her father and would have liked to have made a family-based arrangement, but she realises that just isn't possible and sorting it out through the CSA is the most secure choice for her circumstances.
Donna feels her ex-husband wouldn't dare miss making regular payments through the CSA so this is the way it will stay.
